Basics, advanced topics and CI/CD integration

Docker has become a very important und valuable tool in the toolbox of NAV/BC developers and consultants. While Microsoft has made it very easy to use it, it always makes sense to understand how technology actually works and when something doesn’t work as expected, that knowledge becomes mandatory. This 2 days workshop will guide you from the very basics through a bit of theoretical background to understand why Docker and the NAV/BC images work as the are to practical scenarios of more advanced Docker usage. In the end you will apply your knowledge to creating a container based CI/CD pipeline. This will cover the following topics:

• Basics of containers and images
• Filesystem usage
• Resource governance
• Network access to the container
• Handling multiple containers
• Container-based CI/CD pipelines

Prerequisites

• Be able to work with PowerShell / command line
• Have a basic understanding of filesystems and networking
